This is a very intense, probing mixed media work.
The exquisite combination of oil paint and digital media
are fluidly connected by tone, muted color, and gestural mark
-marking.  I perceive the piece as a cohesive drawing in
its    entirety; the linear elements bring me through
a series of events and darkened passageways.  The strong  value pattern gives an overallsense offoreboding that
builds through the compartmentalizated narrative.  I read
the piece in sequential panels.  It seems as through the
succession of the three stepped images at the
topculminate into an open air the atrical stage in the large
final bottom section.  The slightly skewed enclosures
remain open at the top, giving the viewer a voyeuristic
vantage point to the scene in which tiny figures move
through and illuminate the maze-like set.  Dramatic lighting
seems critical to the understanding of the piece- which
also heightens the mood of the unspecified encounters.
The figures attempt to illuminate the space with handheld
lights, appearing to be searching. Indeed, the viewer is in a similar predicament, exploring clandestine imagery and
spotlights on lonely platforms.  We are pulled into the space
and experience the allure of the forlorn and lost.
